What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a gentle massage technique that aims to stimulate the lymphatic system to remove excess fluid from the body and improve the overall functioning of the lymphatic system.

The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in the body’s immune system, helping to remove waste, toxins, and other unwanted materials from the body.

During an MLD session, a trained therapist uses light, rhythmic strokes to stimulate the lymphatic vessels located just beneath the skin. This helps to promote the flow of lymph fluid through the lymphatic system and encourages the removal of excess fluid and waste from the tissues.

MLD is often used to reduce swelling, improve circulation, and support the immune system. It can be beneficial for a variety of conditions, including lymphedema, post-surgical swelling, and certain skin disorders. We have also found MLD to assist in reducing firm tissue throughout the body including breasts!
